Meet Lee A. Jeter, Sr.,

Pastor Lee A. Jeter, Sr. was installed as the Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, Bossier City, LA on August 4, 2019, he is married to Penny Carroll-Jeter. They are the proud parent of 1 son and 4 daughters.
Pastor Lee A. Jeter, Sr. is a bi-vocational Pastor that serves as the Executive Director of the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana Inc. In this role, Lee oversees the day-day operation, planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s programs and services. He is also responsible for the execution of the organization’s strategic plans to provide affordable housing for working families living at or below the poverty level in North Louisiana. The organization has built 60 homes for low-income working families in Shreveport-Bossier.
Pastor Jeter has a degree in criminal justice from Central Texas College and has completed post graduate studies at Wiley College and Louisiana Tech University. He is retired from the United States Marine Corps.
Pastor Jeter is a 2018 participant in the Reconciliation Dinner Shreveport, was a finalist for the 2017 Minority Business Opportunity Award Top Business Professional of the Year, received the Presidential Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 signed by President Barack Obama, 2016 Ralph Waldo Emerson Award from All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Shreveport, the Louisiana, Mississippi and West Tennessee district of Kiwanis Layman of the year for 2015, 2013 African American “Make A Difference” Achievement Award, recognized by the Shreveport Times and Alliance for Education as one of Shreveport/Bossier twelve community leaders for 2012 and the 2012 Maggie Lee Henson Angel Award. Lee completed the American Express Leadership Academy in 2012 and the NeighborWorks Community Leadership Institute in 2011.
He is currently Chair of the Bossier Parish Democratic Party Executive Committee; serves as the Democratic Representative for the Board of Election Supervisors for the Parish of Bossier, Vice Chair Volunteer Louisiana Commission Board, BancorpSouth Corporate Advisory Council Board, board member for the ARC Caddo-Bossier, board member for the Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CADA), and President of the Bossier Parish NAACP Branch 6090-B and Vice President for the NAACP Louisiana State Conference District H, Past - President and current Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Shreveport, Secretary of the Savannah Place Homeowners Association Board, Treasurer and Past Master of Shelley Hammond Masonic Lodge #247, Secretary/Treasurer for Fleet Reserve Association Branch 098, Sr. Vice Commandant of the Floyd L. Baxter Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Co-Chair of the Community Veterans Engagement Board (CVEB).
In additional to the many awards and recognitions that Pastor Jeter has received, he has served on the advisory committee with the Louisiana Campaign for Equal Justice, assisted attorneys with the McArthur Justice Center on facilitating community meeting in Caddo Parish to address racial discrimination in jury selections, served as a community liaison with the Criminal Justice Reform field director on the Justice Reinvestment Task Force.
